I’ve just coming back from a Tasmanian roadtrip a couple of weeks ago. Work has kept me preoccupied, which resulted in one week of silence on this blog. This has been the first instance since I got back to work on the next blog post. After an enjoyable day in the Blue Mountains, we spent a few hours exploring the streets of Cabramatta and finished off our day enjoying some Vietnamese food in the heart of the one of the largest Vietnamese communities in Australia.

The Three Sisters Lookout in the Blue Mountains

Continuing on with my series of photo essays from my Sydney trip last year. Today’s photo essay is part one of my day trip to the Blue Mountains. The Blue Mountains is less than two hours drive west of Sydney. It’s an easy and well worth day trip if you are visiting Sydney for a few days. To make the most of our day, we headed out the door fairly early in the morning. I previously posted a HDR composite photo of the Three Sisters in the Blue Mountains. Life in transit

I had a couple of hours to spare waiting for my flight from Kuala Lumpur to Penang during my trip to Malaysia back in January. While I was waiting in transit in KLIA 2 airport, it came to me to shoot a short photo series on life waiting in transit. A mini project of sorts. I envisioned it to be a black and white series. Focusing on contrast, lines, curves and symmetry. I also wanted to encapsulate the typical scenes you find in any airport in the world. Walk ways, seats, large windows facing the tarmac, people walking, people resting. I couldn’t wait to load up the photos in Lightroom and convert them to black and white shots.

Words on Fujifilm X-Thusiast Program

This is a quick update. A couple of weeks ago I was contacted by the Fujifilm team here in Australia to ask if I had any words to share with other budding photographers regarding the X-Thusiast program, having been a featured photographer last year. I was happy to share my thoughts on the matter. Recently Fujifilm Australia published a blog post promoting the X-Thusiast program and shared a few of my comments in the post. Check it out if you’re interested.

I was also informed by Fujifilm Australia that they will be publishing a short eBook featuring all 12 X-Thusiast photographers from 2016, which I got a sneak peak into and am excited about! So subscribe to their blog if you’re interested in that.
