Exploring Watson Bay

This is part two of the Sydney beaches series. After spending the morning at Manly, we took a ferry from Manly Wharf to Watson Bay. Watson Bay is known for stunning harbour views, gorgeous beaches and the popular fish and chips shop, Doyles on the Beach. By the time we arrived at Watson Bay, it was lunch time and the perfect time to have some take away fish and chips at Doyle’s Fisherman’s Wharf Cafe. The fish, calamari, prawns and scallop were fresh and tasty. It was a quick and cheap meal that would recommend people to try if you’re visiting Watson Bay.

Walking from Manly Beach to Shelly Beach

Manly Beach

We were fortunate to have experienced some beautiful sunny weather on the day we decided to explore the popular bays and beaches of Sydney. In the next three blog posts I’ll be focusing and sharing images on the following:

  • Walking from Manly Beach to Shelly Beach
  • Exploring Watson Bay
  • Walking from Bondi Beach to Coogee Beach

In hindsight I’m glad we chose an apartment in Surry Hills since the area is filled with cafes and restaurants all in walking distance. After a delicious and hearty breakfast at Paramount Coffee Project in Surry Hills, we headed to Circular Quay to take a ferry to Manly Beach. Once we arrived at Manly Wharf, we walked along the promenade all the way to Manly Beach. Given the beautiful weather, the beach was pretty busy with locals and tourists alike. After walking along Manly beach, we decided to walk southward towards Shelly Beach. The walk is short and the path flat, suitable for all ages. It’s well work the short walk as you get to admire the beautiful coast line along the way. My favourite image of this series is the first image of Manly Wharf. It’s something about the clouds and the overall post-processing of the image that I really like. I hope you enjoy this photo series.

Photographing on the streets of Cabramatta, NSW

Cabramatta, NSW.

I’ve just coming back from a Tasmanian roadtrip a couple of weeks ago. Work has kept me preoccupied, which resulted in one week of silence on this blog. This has been the first instance since I got back to work on the next blog post. After an enjoyable day in the Blue Mountains, we spent a few hours exploring the streets of Cabramatta and finished off our day enjoying some Vietnamese food in the heart of the one of the largest Vietnamese communities in Australia.

Hiking Wentworth Falls in the Blue Mountains

Wentworth Falls, Blue Mountains

Continuing on with my series of photo essays from my Sydney trip last year. Today’s photo essay is part two of my day trip to the Blue Mountains. Wentworth Falls is probably the most well known waterfall and nature walk in the Blue Mountains National Park. It is a three-tiered waterfall in Jamison Valley, around 187 metres high.

The Three Sisters Lookout in the Blue Mountains

Continuing on with my series of photo essays from my Sydney trip last year. Today’s photo essay is part one of my day trip to the Blue Mountains. The Blue Mountains is less than two hours drive west of Sydney. It’s an easy and well worth day trip if you are visiting Sydney for a few days. To make the most of our day, we headed out the door fairly early in the morning. I previously posted a HDR composite photo of the Three Sisters in the Blue Mountains. In this blog post, you’ll find images showcasing the Blue Mountains in it’s full glory from Echo Point.
