Perth Fuji X Aus Meetup, John Oldham Park

Fuji X Aus, April Meet up
John Oldham Park, Perth, April 2019

Being the Easter long weekend, I didn’t expect a large turn out for the Perth Fuji X Aus meet up. I was pleasantly surprised to find there were a total of 12 photographers who rocked up to John Oldham Park in Perth on Easter Saturday. For those who don’t know, John Oldham Park is a lovely little inner city park just next to the Mitchell Freeway in Perth. There are walkpaths within the park, a playground, a giant slide and even a small but beautiful waterfall within the park.

I had an enjoyable afternoon catching up with familiar faces from the group from previous meet ups. It was also great to see some new faces. As usual we talked about the photography and Fujifilm gear we shoot with. I’ve been missing in action photographically speaking the last few months due to other life commitments. Hanging out with other passionate photographers has definitely reinvigorated my joy for photography. I’m looking forward to getting back into photography, photo editing and blogging in the coming months.

The following photos were edited in Lightroom Classic. I tried to capture the natural elements of the park and also tried to capture light and shadows.

Going low but a different perspective.
A grand old wooden bridge in the middle of the park, I love the shadow on the bridge itself.
Looking up. The juxtaposition of the leaves and wood.

This represents the beginning of autumn in Perth.
I was playing with back lighting and manaul focus on the cobweb
We ended out photo walk with the star of the day being photographed by the group.

Thanks for stopping by today.
