Christ Church one of 38 colleges of the University of Oxford. It’s also probably one of the most famous buildings in Oxford. Being a Harry Potter fan, it was very exciting to be able to visit the Great Dining Hall of Christ Church. It was the inspiration for the dining hall in Hogwarts castle in the Harry Potter movies.
We visited Christ Church pretty much in the middle of the day so the Quad had some pretty harsh shadows. I decided to take three shots and merge it in Aurora HDR to get a more evenly lit photo. I think the cover photo above turned out pretty decent.
Christ Church Cathedral was one of the buildings were able to tour and explore ourselves. As you would expect, grand and old. The ceiling was detailed and intricate. I was quite pleased to get such a symmetrical shot of the ceiling.
The inside of the Dining Hall was very impressive, with it’s long tables and beautiful paintings lining the walls.
After exiting the dining hall, we enter one of the many long corridors in Christ Church. It absolutely reminded me of some of the scenes from the Harry Potter movies.
